Brent's Place

Brent's Place

During Emmy’s second round of treatment in 2017, the family needed more than a place to stay in Denver. They needed a real home — clean, safe for a child with a compromised immune system, with a kitchen and enough space for Ewan to visit.

“We need a house, condo, townhouse, apartment, cottage, bungalow, or some other lodging that we can call ours for the next year or so,” Mike wrote in June 2017. “Most importantly, somewhere that is clean and safe for our delicate little flower Emmy.”

Brent’s Place, a Denver-based organization providing housing for immunocompromised patients and their families, became that place. “Team Emmy’s new base of operations for the remainder of the journey,” as Mike described it.

Emmy’s family’s experience at Brent’s Place is part of why Emmy’s Friends now includes housing organizations among the resources it highlights for other families. You can find Brent’s Place and similar organizations in our resources section.
